Workshop Description:

Slow down, get inspired by nature, and discover the beautiful possibilities of watercolor painting!

During this relaxing and creative evening, we'll exploring the art of watercolor through the delicate shapes, colors, and textures found in the natural world.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, local artist Alexis Rhoades will guide you through the fundamentals of watercolor painting as we explore techniques for creating beautiful botanical artwork inspired by leaves, flowers, ferns, and other natural elements.

We'll experiment with color mixing, brush control, layering, and the beautiful ways watercolor pigments interact with water and paper. You'll learn how to create soft washes, build depth and dimension, and capture the organic details that make botanical subjects so interesting to paint.

With plenty of room for personal expression, you'll have the opportunity to choose your own botanical inspiration and create an original watercolor painting to take home. Whether you prefer loose, expressive florals or more delicate, detailed greenery, you'll be encouraged to explore your own artistic style while building confidence with the medium.

No previous painting experience is necessary! This workshop is designed to be approachable for beginners while offering plenty of creative freedom for those with some watercolor experience. All materials will be provided, along with step-by-step guidance and a welcoming environment where you can learn, experiment, and enjoy the process.
