Get to Know 43 Artisan Co.

43 Artisan Co. is an artisan boutique and creative studio located at Woods at the Lake in Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania, offering a thoughtfully curated collection of handmade goods, original artwork, gifts, jewelry, and locally crafted products from talented makers throughout our region.

Founded by artist, jeweler, and creative entrepreneur Alexis Rhoades, 43 Artisan Co. was created from a desire to build more than just a retail space. It was created to be a place where creativity, craftsmanship, and community come together. Alongside Alexis' own original artwork and handmade jewelry collections, visitors will discover work from a growing collection of regional artists, makers, and small businesses whose products reflect the care, skill, and individuality that can only be found in handmade work.

In addition to shopping, 43 Artisan Co. serves as a working creative studio, offering custom artwork, jewelry design and repair, murals, illustration, and a variety of creative services. The space also hosts workshops, classes, artist showcases, and community-centered events designed to encourage connection, creativity, and lifelong learning.

At its heart, 43 Artisan Co. is rooted in a simple belief: that handmade matters. Every purchase supports real artists, real families, and real dreams. Whether you're searching for a meaningful gift, a piece of original artwork, a custom creation, or simply a place to feel inspired, we hope you'll find something special here.

Craftsmanship. Creativity. Community.

The Story Behind 43 Artisan Co.

What started as a simple creative outlet quickly grew into something far greater than I could have imagined.

In October 2022, I launched 43 Jewelry Co., a passion project focused on crafting hypoallergenic gemstone and beach glass jewelry. From the very beginning, I realized just how fulfilling it was to pursue my creative passions, and I eagerly poured my energy into expanding my skill set as an artist and building a tight-knit community around my brand.

As 43 gained momentum—expanding to local events, growing an online presence, entering retail stores, and forming incredible connections along the way—I knew in my heart that my creativity stretched far beyond jewelry alone. By the time the business hit its two-year mark, it was clear: 43 was meant to be more.

And so, 43 Artisan Co. was born. This rebrand allowed me to fully embrace all of my artistic passions, offering a collection of handmade pieces across jewelry design, pyrography, woodworking, pastel art, photography, and more.

Today, I'm proud to share that 43 Artisan Co. now calls our Meadville-based storefront home, warmly welcoming patrons near and far to browse our carefully curated selection of handmade artisanal treasures created by myself as well as 20+ local artists.

I am committed to uplifting our thriving community of 2,000+ supporters, offering my works across seven retail locations spanning Erie and Crawford counties, and continuing to reach new audiences through the 43 online store and select pop-up events.

What started as a small creative outlet pursued in the evenings after work has now grown into a brand dedicated to craftsmanship, connection, and creativity in every form.

Get to Know the Artist

Hey there! I’m Alexis Longo, but you can just call me Lex. I’m a full-time metalsmith, artist, and storyteller rooted in my hometown of Meadville, PA.

Growing up, I always found solace in creating. From an early age, I was naturally drawn to various forms and mediums of artistic expression. Today, I carry that same spirit into my work—finding that my purpose feels clearest when I’m immersed in the creative process.

I believe art, in all its wonderful forms, has the power to connect us. It’s a beautiful language all its own, and I truly see it as a privilege to spend my days pouring energy into my craft and sharing my story with every soul who stumbles upon 43 Artisan Co.

When I’m not making new pieces, you’ll usually find me spending time with my incredibly supportive husband, Joey, and our adorable goldendoodle pup, Luca. I also enjoy practicing yoga and Pilates, spending time in nature, and supporting local small businesses, coffee shops, and food spots.

Every piece I create is crafted with intention, precision, and a deep love for the process.

Whether I’m forging metal and intuitively selecting gemstones and beach glass, slowly burning intricate designs into beautiful grains of wood, or layering pigments onto canvas, I pour my passion into every detail.

My artistic style is deeply influenced by my lifelong love for tattoo design, often blending intricate detail with striking contrast—a fusion of delicacy and strength that resonates throughout my work.

My goal is to craft pieces that carry meaning, evoke emotion, and become cherished parts of your journey, just as they have been a part of mine.
