Workshop Description

Step into the mesmerizing world of pyrography — the ancient art of drawing with fire. In this immersive, beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn how to safely and skillfully create with a woodburning tool to design your own hand-burned ornament just in time for the holiday season.

We’ll begin by familiarizing ourselves with your woodburner and tool accessories — how to set up, prime, and change tips, adjust heat levels, and work safely and effectively. You’ll experiment on a practice wood canvas, exploring how different tips, strokes, and grains produce unique textures and effects. Learn which woods burn beautifully and which to avoid, and discover finishing methods to seal and preserve your final masterpiece.

Then, you’ll put your new skills to the test by designing and burning your own woodburned Christmas ornament! Choose from a selection of design templates or bring your own idea to life — sketch paper, graphite transfer sheets, and pencils will all be available.

All tools, materials, and safety gear are provided, along with light refreshments and access to our cozy coffee and cocoa bar.
